"Your time is limited. You don't get to pause it, earn more of it, or get a second lifetime to spend it differently. So don't waste it waiting for someone else to finally make time for you. Instead, make time for yourself. Chase the dream. Call your family. Read the book. Visit your grandparents. Start the project. Go on the walk. Love the people who love you back."

As an acquiescent, it has taken me years (and years) to make time for myself and do things that are important to me without feeling guilty. Now, when I offer kindness to others it's because that is who I am, not because someone I felt like I should.

Thank you for this post. So appreciated.

The distinction between excuses and exceptions was my biggest takeaway. We all have seasons where life genuinely gets in the way, but over time our calendars reveal what our words often hide. I also appreciated that you turned the mirror back on the reader. It's easy to ask why someone else isn't making time for us, but the harder question is whether we're making time for the people and goals we say matter most.
